Vital
statistics of the Silipaktor™
Size and
weight
Footprint: 750mm x 750mm; total height: 1,810mm; feed height: 1,700mm;
from the back of the machine to the front of feed: 870mm. Weight without
the bin: 160kgs; weight of bin when fully loaded: approximately 360 kgs.
Capacity
Multiple Feed. Each 220-litre bin holds nearly 300 kgs of cullet. This
equates to approximately 650 x 750 ml wine bottles or more than five 240
litre bins of uncrushed glass and about the same as a 1,100 litre wheelie-bin.
Ease
of manoeuvre and access
The bins are wheeled and, in spite of their weight when full, are easily
manoeuvred, although a service lift or reasonably flat walkway (without
stairs) is necessary. A 'dead man's handle ensures the bins cannot 'run
away' while being moved.
Health
and safety
The Silipaktor™ glass-crusher is CE marked to meet both
the Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) Directive and the Machinery Directive.
It can only work with a bin in place - an automatic cutout operates if
the bin is removed. During operation, the unit is effectively sealed so
there is no danger of glass fragments escaping. Dust release is negligible
and since glass is 99.9% free of crystalline silica (a leading cause of
silicosis) the material is, to all intents and purposes, harmless.
Additional
services provided by GCS
GCS can provide a waste glass collection service in most urban areas in
the UK. The company offers a full service and maintenance package.
